House Hunters TV programme features Bermuda

Bermuda is set to be highlighted on international television on Thanksgiving as House Hunters International returns to the Island.

Tomorrow’s programme, broadcast on Home and Gardens Television (HGTV), will feature two Canadian friends, Kate Middleton and Kim Fahrion, seeking accommodations here in Bermuda.

According to the episode description: “After graduating and becoming co-workers, Kate and Kim were fed up with the long hours and Calgary’s cold winters, so they decided to transfer their accountant jobs to laid-back and sunny Bermuda.

“Kate has never lived outside her family’s home, so it’s not only the first time on her own, but also it’s a new experience living with Kim. Kate definitely wants to reside in a lively neighbourhood, while Kim’s eyes are firmly set on a quiet beach setting, so their real estate agent, Adam Birch, will have his hands full trying to balance their demands.”

Mr Birch, from Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty, said the episode was filmed over a period of several days about five months ago.

“Our company filmed with them a few years ago, so when they decided they wanted to come back down to Bermuda, they gave us a call and asked if we would be interested in doing it again,” he said. “I just happened to be walking by my boss’s office at the right time.

“It all went really well. Everyone was really professional and the ladies who came down were great. It was a very positive experience.”

While he said that he did not want to spoil what happens in the episode, he added: “I think it’s going to show Bermuda in a really good light. The places we showed them were really nice, so they kind of show the lifestyle that we have here.

The episode is set to air on HGTV at 11.30pm tomorrow and again at 2.30am on Friday.
