Teen hurt in football fight

A teenager had to be treated in hospital after a fight broke out close to BFA Field on Friday night.

The 15-year-old boy was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after the disturbance broke out on Frog Lane in Devonshire at around 10.30pm.

The Royal Gazette understands that trouble flared after the end of a football game at the BFA Field, opposite the National Stadium.

“Inquiries into a reported disturbance are ongoing,” a police spokesman said.

“Details remain limited at this time, however a 15-year-old male was taken to the hospital for medical assessment after apparently sustaining relatively minor injuries during the incident.

“Initial information suggests that there were several persons in the vicinity at the time of this reported disturbance and any witnesses or individuals with information regarding this matter should call the main police telephone number 295-0011 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.”
