A 46-year-old St George’s man has died following a collision between two motorcyclists. Police this morning confirmed the man’s death, which left the other driver, a 55-year-old man from Devonshire in hospital.

He was last listed as being in a stable condition following the incident on North Shore Road, near Coney Island, yesterday afternoon.

“No further information will be given until the next of kin has been notified,” said a police spokesperson.

The dead man had initially been taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in a serious condition following the crash at 12.30pm yesterday, and police said details on the incident were sketchy.

“It appears that two motorcycles were being ridden in opposite directions along North Shore Road when they collided,” the spokesman said. “This resulted in both male riders being taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance.”

Police cordoned off the area while collision investigators examined the scene, causing traffic delays as vehicles were diverted along Wilkinson Avenue.

Anyone with information about the crash are urged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.
