Bermudian arrested after fatal UK crash

A 69-year-old Bermudian man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal crash in the UK, in which a 64-year-old Bermudian woman was also injured.

The two were reportedly travelling together in a car near the village of Bury, West Sussex when they were involved in a collision with a motorcycle.

The motorcycle’s driver, a 20-year-old man aboard a Honda VFR 800F, was fatally struck around 4.30pm on Sunday, according to the Sussex police.

The rider was said to have come from the village of Billingshurst.

The driver, reported by police to be holidaying in the UK from his Bermuda residence, sustained shock, while the passenger was also treated in St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester, for a broken collar bone, whiplash and shock. No names have yet been released.
